| The
annual "Meet the Pros" seminar took place on Wednesday,
February 19th, at 7 pm in the KPIX studios, 855 Battery St., San
Francisco. The two-hour event was co-sponsored by AWRT, NATAS, and
the NorCal RTNDA.
The seminar
provided college students and others hoping to break into the
broadcasting business with an opportunity to talk with people
who work in radio and television.
This years
panelists included KGO radio news director Greg Tantum, KRON news
director Stacy Owen, KQED-FM radio personality Angie Coiro, KRON
program director Pat Patton, KTVU graphics designer Deanne Moenster,
KRON reporter Ross Palombo, KTLN station manager Brian Avery,
KGO news editor Lynn R. Friedman, KPIX producer David MillS, KSFO
general sales manager, Greg Nemitz, and KNTV producer/host, Janice
Edwards.
Each participant
received a complimentary copy of Linda Guess Farris' book "Television
Careers: A Guide to Breaking and Entering," a $15 retail
value. Refreshments for the evening were provided by Zingari Ristorante.
